Wow, I loved your piece! I actually felt exhilarated to read it. Often I find myself holding my breath when reading a well intentioned article about race written by a white person that in the end, gives white folks more reason to be scared of us and more distanced from the issues. Your piece however, offers well… a sort of kindness. Rather than blaming, you open the space for an invitation to learn, reflect and think about an unfamiliar concept called whiteness and how that might possibly be a factor affecting these outcomes regarding race in this country.
